Page Layout. What is it?

When design is created, when all functionality modules and components should be connected together page layout is final stage of site development, site structure that will define the text and graphics on the site in different browsers.

There are fixed and changeable layouts of the site. When layout is fixed all elements of web-pages always have a fixed size, regardless of monitor size set by the user and screen resolution. The most widespread methods of site layout:

  • HTML-layout – is a site layout based on hypertext markup language HTML. Depending on the basic elements of html used for the site single out html-table layout and html-block layout.
  • CSS-based layout sometimes is isolated in separate type of site layout, although in modern web design outline table style (CSS)is used in almost any layout. It describes the appearance of pages, written in markup: HTML, XHTML, XML.
  • Global styles are described in the tag <style>, which are located in the header (<head>) web-page. Described style will be applied only to one page. Internal style appointed for each tag and apply only in relation to it.

In modern web design combined layout is often used – it allows increase the possibility of imposition and create sophisticated and attractive website. Page layout must meet certain standards to display the site correctly in any browser that supports these them. The ability of site to work properly regardless of the browser is called Cross-Browser compatibility.

Validity- is one more essential thing. Validity – is a code compliance to all quality standards established for the site used markup language (HTML, XHTML, XML). Page layout is especially important for advertising where the goal is to balance maximizing advertising dollars in the available space, while not overwhelming customers with too much content.
